No rest for the weary...

An update on Gabriel's sleeping situation:
This post is mostly for my family who have been listening to me complain all week.
So you know since our return from vacation we have been trying to wean him into his crib. Before vaca he was still in our room/ bassinet (even though he had quite grown out of it). He learned how to roll over to his belly and hold his head up WAY high so we knew it was time to finally put him in his big baby bed (much to my mommy dismay). All the while out of town he slept in the huge bed with us and he became quite used to snuggling up with me and sleeping all through the night...but as you can imagine I did not get any sleep that way either. Moving on...
upon our return I moved the extra matress into his nursery to be with him on his first few nights up in his room. Getting up every 30 minutes or so was a regular occurance when he would wake to find his papoo (his pacifer...we've called it that since our oldest son named it so when he was a tot) nowhere to be found. I knew that wouldn't work especially so since I would be running up and down the stairs when only a bottle would send him off to dreamland. Darkness, sleep deprivation, and steep stairs had me paranoid about falling down and doing some damage. We finally decided on Tuesday to move to crib down to our bedroom so I could be close to the kitchen and for my aching back to get its much needed relief in the comfort of my own bed...finally!
That first night was a bad one for Jason as well as me and he soon realized my stories of baby waking up every 30 minutes to every hr was not a fib. Still no rest for me and not much for hubby. I ended up making him a bottle twice that night in addition to getting up to flip him over onto his back (he still can't turn back over the majority of the time) and find dear papoo.
Last night was much better so I think we our FINALLY on our way to a restful night. I still had to get up twice to fed him, which is highly unacceptable for his age...but I only got up another few times to roll him over and stick the passie back in. Still not a full 7 hrs sleep...or 6....or 5 for that matter, but, definitely that extra hr helps. I'm making a trip to Target tomorrow to buy the Little Einstein sleep sound aquarium to attach to the crib which I think will help lull him off to nap. Plus its adorable and matches his underwater themed nursery!
Sweet Jason did surprise me with a simple but gorgeous bouquet of flowers for my suffering this past week. LOL.
